Have you heard your parents, teachers or other authority figures tell you that they "Just want you to be happy?" It's said at weddings, promotions at work, upon graduation or other successful accomplishments.
Being "happy" appears to be the one ultimate goal in life. It is also one of the most misunderstood goals in life. Happiness is confusing and marketed in a way that cons you
into thinking that happiness comes with a set of rules for you to pursue in order to have it or a set of things to buy that will make you happy. This is how we learn to think that happiness is outside ourselves vs. something we generate from within ourself.
Outside of money, happiness is the most pursued goal by people, and like money, most people don't become happy or rich. Even many rich people have escaped being truly happy. You may be asking, "So what then is the happiness formula?"
One of the most important aspect of the happiness formula is discernment. This aspect of happiness is the most ignored because it means that you must look inward for your happiness and know yourself enough to know what is or is not going to make you happy. Discernment is putting your mind aside and allowing your soul to begin to explore possibilities without your mind trying to talk you out of what would make you happy. The happiness formula means that your mind and soul begin to work together vs. fighting each other for domination.
Most often we have learned to use our minds to talk ourselves out of what would make us happy and this is where things begin to fall apart and unhappiness takes over. Many authority figures have taught us how to talk ourselves out of our passions and purpose and take a more "practical" road. So many people are sick and dying of practicality and they lay on their death beds never having pursued real and true happiness. Don't let this happen to you.
Discernment means evaluating your intention and actions and seeing if they are aligned with your soul. Happiness is not something that we simply get by adding water and stirring. Happiness is the journey of awakening, discerning, exploring and having boundaries as well as vision, action, and goals.
Understanding the happiness formula means knowing that happiness is a journey that will benefit you most if you are paying attention to your soul. Happiness requires faith in the unknown. It requires you to step out and pursue your happiness without possibly knowing how, where, or why. It is being aligned within yourself enough to be present in the moment and create what it is you actually want.
